A Black Bear visits the Birds of Prey

As final preparations for the Birds of Prey were underway this afternoon volunteers and course workers had a visit from a black bear.

We thought these critters were supposed to be hibernating by now, however, we are by no means bear experts. Perhaps our partners at the US Forest Service could shed some light on the subject.

Interesting to note that this video was taken from the Birds of Prey Finish Stadium. Thus, this bear was no more than 50 yards from course workers, snow cats, countless workers and even the Birds of Prey lift!

The Birds of Prey Race Week kicks off tomorrow with the first downhill training day.
