This Sunday, December 14th we are bringing Charlie Daniels Band to town for an evening of fiery country rock at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. More information and tickets for that show are available HERE.
We are also proud to announce that six dedicated Charlie Daniels fans in our email database won a meet and greet with the legend himself before the performance. We will be offering more meet and greet opportunities to our email list patrons as the season progresses and encourage you all to sign up if you are not already a part of that list. Look for footage from the Charlie Daniels meet and greet to surface on our blog sometime next week.
More often than not, the music of Charlie Daniels Band is hard to pigeon hole into a single category.
When you hear a classic Charlie Daniels Band performance like "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," you hear music that knows no clear genre. Is it a folk tale? A southern boogie? A country fiddle tune? An electric rock anthem? The answer is "yes" to all of that and more. And the same goes for "In America," "Uneasy Rider," "The South's Gonna Do It," "Long Haired Country Boy," "Still in Saigon," "The Legend of Wooley Swamp," and the rest of a catalog that spans more than 35 years of record making and represents more than 18 million in sales.
Take a moment to listen to some of the songs in the playlist below and make your own call. We have decided to broadly label their music as "fiery country rock," but leave it up to all of you to determine which genre make you a fan.
See you at the VPAC, show starts at 7:30.
