The first installment of the 2008-2009 First Light, First Tracks took place on 12.19.08 on Vail Mountain.
Seven inches of fresh snow fell overnight creating perfect skiing conditions for our first FLFT of the season. For those of you unfamiliar with this program, it is a benefit the Vail Valley Foundation bestows upon donors supporting the General Fund at a level of $1,250 or more. Seven times a year 60 of these donors take to the slopes at 7:30am to enjoy Vail, or Beaver Creek before the general public. Imagine loading the lift at 7:30 before the masses vying for "first chair" bragging rights. Then... imagine doing it when there is seven inches of fresh snow and chairs 3, 4, 5, and 11 running just for you and 60 other people.
