Talon Crew Pics Of The Day - 2010 Olympic Men's Downhill

There is no rest for the Talon Crew, the Birds of Prey volunteer corps partly responsible for making the Birds of Prey here in Beaver Creek one of the best courses on the Men's World Cup circuit. Enjoy the photos and words below by Steve Prawdzki. Steve and other members of the Talon Crew are up in Whistler volunteering for the 2010 Winter Olympics. We are sure the Canadians are thankful for their hard work while we are thankful for the beautiful photos below!

The BIG day has finally arrived. The skies have cleared and the temperature is cold. The course crew worked literally through the night and did a remarkable job preparing the course. We loaded the gondola at 5:30 and did our moring gate chores. Back to the bottom for a quick Gate Judge's meeting and then in place on course.. Today is all about the athletes. You can feel the energy, everybody is stoked. It's show time!

After the race we received some free tickets to the Whistler Victory Ceremony at the Whistler Medals Plaza, right behind my lodge. What a thrill to see an awards ceremony in person. The atmosphere was electric. The stadium they built for the awards was incredible. I hope you saw me, I was on live TV when they panned to the crowd scene.

Way to go Bode!

Tomorrow is the Super Combined, another big day for the Gate Judges, and another early load.
