Throughout our 2 weeks here in Whistler, we've had a steady stream of past Olympians and Olympic medalists, but tonight was our first time with an Olympian who had their medal with them! Kathy Kreiner is one of only a handful of Canadian women who have medaled in alpine skiing and we were honored to have her and her sister drop by the Vail House tonight. Cathy had her gold medal with her, which she won in the 1976 Innsbruck Olympics in the Super G.
And while we've been here for quite awhile now, tonight was our first chance to really visit the other nations houses. Now that Sheika is "in the house' literally, we made stops to the Austrian, Italian and Swiss houses.Special thanks to Martin Berthod, our competitor with St. Moritz, who bought our dinner at the Swiss house. Martin is truly one of the good guys, and always has been!
Tomorrow we welcome our many friends from Canada to a special night at the Vail House and we wrap up our adventure here by hosting the members of USSA on Friday- then on to Vancouver on Saturday and back home!
