Global economic crises are such a downer, aren’t they? But they sure make good fodder for satire—along with international dust-ups, foot-in-mouth moments and corrupt governors. The Capitol Steps, a renowned group of political satirsts, return to the VPAC tonight at 7:30pm.
No matter who is currently featured in the headlines, The Capitol Steps are equal opportunity offenders promising an evening full of bipartisan lampooning. Recent material from the troupe includes the media's love affair with the Nation's 44th President Barack Obama ("Obama Mia"), Illinois Governor Blagojevich's attempted sale of the Senate seat ("Come Buy With Me") and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il singing show tunes ("How Do You Solve a Problem Like Korea?").
The Capitol Steps have recorded 29 albums, including their latest, Barackin' Around the Christmas Tree and Obama Mia!
