While some of the world’s best dancers are busy rehearsing on the stage at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, future dancers participating in the Celebrate the Beat (CTB) program are actively perfecting their dance moves, too.

The opening act for the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Broadway, Ballet & Beyond performance on Sunday, August 1 at 7:30pm will feature a special performance by the Vail Valley’s CTB dancers.
CTB summer camp participants have busily been rehearsing every day for a week to prepare for the debut of their performance on Sunday evening. As the opening act for the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the CTB performance will feature dance and movement to classical Broadway tunes from Oliver, The Wiz, West Side Story and Chorus Line.

The Vail Valley Foundation’s CTB program works with local children to elicit a personal standard of excellence by using dance as the medium to teach participants that energy, discipline, hard work, commitment and joyful concentration can lead to success.

CTB was founded in 2000 by Tracy Straus, is inspired by the techniques of the award-winning National Dance Institute (NDI). Straus began mastering the NDI method under founder, Jacques d’Amboise teaching in public schools throughout New York City. All CTB Teaching Artists are professional dancers, choreographers, musicians and composers, all of whom believe that the arts should be an integral part of every child's education.
