Vail International Dance Festival to Feature Royal Ballet Principal Dancer Sarah Lamb

The 2010 Vail International Dance Festival is proud to feature Sarah Lamb, principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London at the International Evenings of Dance on Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7. Both performances will begin at 7:30pm at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail.

Sarah Lamb was born and raised in Boston, MA and trained with Madame Tatiana Legat at the Boston Ballet School. After being awarded a gold medal by President Bill Clinton in 1998 for being named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts, she joined the Boston Ballet where she was promoted to soloist in 2001 and principal in 2003. Since 2004, she has been with the Royal Ballet in London where she was promoted to principal in 2006.

Lamb will be performing three pieces during the International Evenings of Dance including Limen, choreographed by Wayne McGregor and
Tryst, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Both performances will be duets with Eric Underwood, another member of the Royal Ballet. She will also be performing Dying Swan, a solo set to the music of Camille Saint-Saens.
